Canada government has started a very special program for Indian students – SPP (student Partnership Program). Can I get work permit in Canada if I do not study under SPP ?

Work permit scheme is open to all the international students who have graduated with proper qualification from any of the accredited institutions. Work permit has its own requirement and each student should qualify those requirements. According to the present status of work permit in Canada, a student whose duration of course is for two years or more will get a work permit for 3 years in Canada. If the duration of study is for less than 2 years then the duration of work permit will be equal to the duration of study.

Applying Canada Study Visa under new SPP rules


Eligibility

Applications for student visas should be submitted as soon as possible once you have received an acceptance letter from the educational institution. To submit a Canadian visa application of this kind you will need to satisfy the following criteria.
1) You must be in possession of an acceptance letter from the school or educational institution which you will attend.
2) You must provide evidence that you have sufficient funds to pay school fees and to reside in close proximity to the school.
3) You must be able to demonstrate that it is your intention to return home when your studies are complete. You may be required to pass a medical exam.
4) You will need to obtain a temporary resident visa if required.
As SPP rules are amended very recently, now if you are applying for undergraduate courses you need 6 bands in IELTS with no less than 5.5 bands in each medule. Simmilarly if you are applying for graduate courses you need 6.5 bands in IELTS with no less than 6 band in each medule.
