Programmes

Special programmes covered in rural programmes:
(1) Agricultural News Bulletin: The news Bulletin would cover all the developments in agriculture and allied fields. In this programme, information was given about the availability and the distribution of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and other inputs. Timely guidance about the disease which required immediate attention to save orchards, crops, live stock from damage. The news also includes new scientific invention taken place in the field of agriculture and other allied fields. The duration of programme was ten minutes
(2) District Diary: It was based on development story of particular district covering all developments by district development commissioner which was supported by film bits…, graphics and facts and figures.

(3) Agriculture Quiz: The programme was based on the question/answers. The farmers were participating in the programme. They were asked short type of questions by the experts regarding agriculture and allied topics. The programme was supported by visual photographs, short films, live material and each effort was taken to make the programme interesting. The duration of programme was thirty minutes once a month.
(4) Replies to viewer’s letters: The letters received from viewers were answered every Wednesday of the month. I was replying the letters. The programmes was kind of feedback to us from farmers. At times they were writing about the difficulties faced by them in the way of inputs, seasonal diseases, irrigation facilities etc. in addition, other lack of facilities related to day to day life not connected to agriculture and allied fields This message was also carried to concerned department which was given due hearing and remedial measures were also taken.
(5) Program on basis Agriculture: In 1982 Agriculture University started working to facilitate the students joining. Agriculture University ‘Butraath’ which was running for few year.
(6) Children’s Programme: As usual in children’s programme we took the boys of urban areas, which was were coming from very good schools. The rural boys were not getting the chance to show their worth. It was also difficult for boys to come from remote areas for participation in the programme. For this reason; once a month I was going to village and cover two to three schools together, teachers/parents too were taking keen interest and they would manage the whole show. Refreshment was also served to children’s. They were presenting small skits, poems, songs, jokes etc. The recorded material was then telecasted as per schedule. With the help of their teachers. The school boys were called at one place.
(7) “Soan Gham” (Our Village): The programme was based on particular village, which would cover its surroundings, area, population, crops, fruits development, education, art, literature. It also included inter views of some personalities and elderly persons in the village and some silent features. This was film based programme of half an hour and telecast once a month.
(8) Success Stories: I started a programme on progressive farmers, on the basis the work done by them in the field of Agriculture/Horticulture/Animal Husbandry in small industry units in art and literature. The success stories was telecasted and taller on published through P.I.B Govt. of India.
